November 7, 2014 is a day to celebrate a milestone in healthcare excellence.
VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) unveils a new state-of-the-art Mental Health Center.
Veterans will benefit from a streamlined treatment setting for Intensive Outpatient and Substance Use Disorder Programs, Group and Recreational Therapies and the Buprenorphine Treatment, currently offered on the seventh floor of the Fresno VA Medical Center.
The new 13,507 square feet facility offers two conference, two group and 24 individual rooms. In addition, the development will integrate the surrounding rural communities, through collaboration with the Merced, Oakhurst and Tulare clinics.
VACCHCS planned for 2015 the incorporation of critical mental health services unique to women Veterans and a co-morbid Post-Traumatic Stress and Substance Use Disorders Program to the system.
In 2013, approximately 6,200 Veterans received Mental Health care during 50,145 encounters with at least 1 of the 81 physicians, nurses and support staff assigned to the Mental Health Service. All appointments were scheduled under 30 days and most under 14 days.
The Central Valley community is invited to celebrate and show their gratitude to their heroes at the Mental Health Center 1 Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony to be held on Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Fresno VA Medical Center campus, located on 2615 E. Clinton Ave., Fresno CA 93703. Tour and reception to follow.
VA Central California Health Care System is continuously expanding to better serve Veterans in the Central Valley!
