In their Honor…“The Friends of the Fallen” started the Hubbard-Baro Memorial Golf Tournament named for the first two "Clovis Boys" to die in the long war: Jared Hubbard and Jeremiah Baro. After graduating from Buchanan High, the two friends enlisted together and completed Marine Corps Recruit Training “boot camp” and follow-on infantry training. Paired as a two-man scout-sniper team, they deployed in February 2003 to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The next year, the two battle buddies shipped out again to Al Anbar Province–Iraq. Sadly, on Nov. 4, 2004, they were both killed when an improvised explosive device detonated beneath their vehicle.

VA Central CA Health Care System (VACCHCS) is honored and grateful for this enduring 10-year partnership and strong commitment towards improving access and care for Valley Veterans. This annual golf tournament serves to remember the Hubbard brothers, Jared and Nathan and their friend Jeremiah Baro and all Veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service to this great country.

One need only to visit www.hubbardbarogolf.com to see the special tribute “Faces of the Fallen” in honor of service members with shared San Joaquin Valley ties, the local Buchanan High School and the heavy toll on the community of Clovis, CA.

To date, Hubbard-Baro has donated over $200,000 to VACCHCS. This continuous generosity has helped to fund physical therapy and medical equipment and numerous projects and support services – all aimed at raising Veteran morale and enhancing recovery.

Each year on Veterans Day, November 11th, the Hubbard-Baro Memorial Golf Tournament tees off at the Fort Washington Golf & Country Club-Fresno. You too can support our Veterans by participating in the upcoming tournament or the Bear Boot Camp for families.
