Bauman, New VACCHCS Director - Fresno, CA — The Department of Veterans Affairs is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Bauman as the new Director of the VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, California. Bauman will oversee the delivery of health care to approximately 96,000 Veterans and an operating budget of $212 million. (11/20/2015)

VA Unveiling the “Walk of Honor” Memorial - FRESNO, Calif. – VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS) is unveiling the “Walk of Honor Memorial – Honoring All Who Served.” The ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon, on the grounds of the Fresno VA Medical Center at 2615 E. Clinton Avenue, Fresno, CA 93703. This ceremony marks the fulfillment of our commitment to Veterans whose names are currently memorialized on the original “Wall of Honor” from 2008 to 2012. The memorial is a permanent tribute, and the planned expansion will culminate over the next years with the additions of Veteran’s names, statues and enhancements to the memorial site. (10/26/2015)

VA Funds Central California Agency in Battle to End Homelessness - Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert A. McDonald announced today the award of a $2 million homeless prevention grant to Fresno, Kings, Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, San Joaquin and Tulare counties. The grant will serve homeless and at-risk Veteran families as part of the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program associated with WestCare California, Inc., one of the 301 community agencies in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands receiving grants. Fresno VA Medical Center Wears Pink - VACCHCS employees will be wearing pink on Thursday, October 24, 2013 to honor those who have passed and celebrate the survivors of breast cancer.
